die Fruehaufstaender.

Sehnsucht hat mich frueh geweckt;
wo die alten Eichen rauschen,
hier am Waldrand hingestreckt,
will ich Dich, Natur, belauschen.

Jeder Halm ist wie erwacht;
gruener scheint das Feld zu leben,
wenn im kuehlen Tau der Nacht
warm die ersten Strahlen beben.

Wie die Fuelle mich beengt!
so viel Grosses! So viel Kleines!
wie es sich zusammendraengt
in ein uebermaechtig Eines!
